Two hotkeys

Proofread or translate, instantly

Pick the text, pick the hotkey. Neatype does one job well and gets out of your way.

⌥⌘F

Spelling & Grammar

Fixes every spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistake with the smallest edits — keeping your wording, slang, and voice. It corrects your text, it never answers it.

Thanks for your email, I will respond tomorrow.

⌥⌘T

Translate

Two-way translation between your language and one more, in place. Technical jargon and clipped slang map to the right term — never a similar-sounding word.

Set your native and target language in Settings → Model. Translation is two-way and picks the direction automatically.

Correct, don't rewrite

What you get from every correction

The same care in both modes — whether you're fixing or translating.

Keeps your language and script

Corrections stay in the language and even the alphabet you wrote in. Only a foreign technical term normally written in Latin — an inflected "API", say — is restored to its standard spelling.

Smallest possible edits

It changes as few letters as it can and keeps your wording, slang and tone — no paraphrasing, no formalizing, no shift in meaning.

Your text, never a command

Your selection is treated as content, not instructions. A question stays a question and a command stays a command — Neatype never answers, obeys or runs it.

Smart with jargon

Technical terms and clipped or borrowed slang map to the right standard term instead of a similar-sounding everyday word, and abbreviations are expanded.

⌥⌘T

Translation that goes both ways

Neatype detects the language of your selection and translates it into the other one — you never pick a direction. Set your native and target language once in Settings → Model.

ENES

Automatic direction

Write in your language and it goes to the target; paste the target language and it comes back to yours.

Meaning over literal

Slang, jargon and abbreviations become the term a native speaker would actually use, not a word that merely sounds similar.

Zero setup

One local engine, nothing to configure

Neatype runs a single, fixed model on your Mac and sets it up for you — no model picker, no tuning, no decisions to make.

Set up automatically

On first launch Neatype downloads the local runtime (~133 MB) and the model (~2.5 GB) and starts them. You install nothing.

Stays on your Mac

The model and all inference run on 127.0.0.1 — and if you already run Ollama, Neatype reuses it instead of downloading its own.

Tuned for speed

A compact model with its “thinking” step switched off, so a correction comes back in well under a second.

The model lives in Application Support, and the local server shuts down the moment you quit Neatype.

Type with confidence, in every app

Free, local, and private. Download Neatype and fix or translate text anywhere on your Mac.
