Private by design

Your words never leave your Mac

Neatype runs a language model locally — no cloud inference and no account. Telemetry is anonymous and fully under your control.

  • Everything runs locally

The model and all inference run on 127.0.0.1. Your text is processed on-device, not on a server.

  • No account, no subscription

Download it and use it. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay.

  • Works fully offline

After the one-time model download, Neatype keeps working with no internet connection.

  • Telemetry you control

Optional anonymous quality stats — switch them off entirely, including any text, in Settings → General.

Model and inference stay on your machine.

What leaves your Mac

Your text vs. an anonymous usage log

Correcting and translating happens entirely on your device. Only optional, anonymized telemetry ever leaves it.

Stays on your Mac

  • The text you correct or translate
  • The language model and all inference, on 127.0.0.1
  • Your clipboard and your selection

Leaves only if telemetry is on

  • An anonymized usage log of a correction
  • By default, the text of the correction — to improve quality
  • Nothing tied to your identity, ever
Anonymous by construction

Built so an event can't point back to you

If you leave telemetry on, this is what keeps it anonymous.

No identity

No account, no user ID, and no IP address — your IP is never even read.

Hashed install ID

A per-install identifier is stored only as a salted hash, so installs can be counted but never traced back or cross-linked.

Time blurred to the hour

Timestamps are rounded to the hour, so an event can't be matched to a specific keystroke.

Off in one switch

Turn telemetry off in Settings → General and Neatype sends nothing at all.

Full transparency

Exactly what a usage event can contain

No more than this — and nothing that says who you are.
